I've been taking this supplement for perhaps a decade. Needless to say, I am thoroughly impressed by this form of coenzymated B6. This is a high quality supplement which has excellent effects on the body and is of a very high potency. I can tell for sure that it works on my body because when I take it before bed I can remember all the dreams I had. This is actually a documented effect of B6 on the nervous system. Not only are the ingredients of a high quality, but the amount of vitamin per tablet is also very high. This is why I only take half a tablet per night. As a result, it is very cost effective as well. Keep in mind that this is the activated form of B6 so it is much better absorbed, more bioavailable than inactive B6, and doesn't need to be taken with food. This is a far superior form of B6 as it is bioavailable and has a high potency there is no taste off it. Easy to swallow. It is excellent for nervous system health. B6 has an antidepressant effect and increases our energy. I take it for healthy mood and energy effects. This is my favourite P5P B6
This is a special kind of B6 and since I’ve been taking this, I take about 75% of the pill, it has greatly helped with diabetic foot neuropathy that I’ve had for 26 years now. I’ll never be without it again. Incidentally, I have discovered that taking this with a 5000 mg B12 instant dissolve pill has really helped all my nerves in my old diabetic body. Hope you can get some relief too!
I'm trying this vitamin B6 very specifically for supplementing my diet and lifestyle to balance what I suspect are my imbalanced hormones during my menstrual cycle. And also the active form of B6 (coenzymated) as I researched it's absorbed most efficiently. It's only been the one monthly cycle (I started about a week before my menstruation). During that time, I did notice I felt a bit more energy and not so 'gripped' with anxiety and moodiness. As I say, even though it's only been one cycle of experience, I believe I will feel the balancing effects even more so before my next menstruation. And I will be ordering another bottle or two!
I love the Source Naturals brand. It’s hard to find a lot of supplements in tablet form which I tend to absorb easier than those terrible vegetarian cellulose capsules, I hate those so much. So this is pretty much the only version of active B6, p5p, that I can find in such a high dosage. B6, like all of the B vitamins, is needed by the body for so many things like absorbing magnesium, making progesterone, converting homocysteine to cysteine which is esp important for those with mfthr issues, fights acne by controlling sebum production, assisting in the metabolizing of sulfites which is heavily implicated in autism, so many things. You would need the active version of B6 if you have Morton’s Toe, which is when your second toe is longer than your first - this is a physical representation of your genetic inability to absorb regular B6. B6 is destroyed in food by heating/processing/storing and is depleted by many drugs such as asthma medication and birth control pills in particular.
I find this form of B6 works better than regular one if you take it for bloating or painful/swollen breasts before period. It's just that regular B6 is cheaper. It's good to try both I guess and chose the one that works best for you. I like this brand as well. Tried other supplements, all work well.
I take these to ease PMS symptoms and I believe they are helping. Symptoms seem less severe and more manageable, but please note that supplements work differently among individuals. What works for one may not work for another. The best thing to do is consult with your healthcare provider and ask for their advice.
It has helped me with my anxiety and sleep issues. i combine it along with melatonin and B12. but the vitamin B, i take them in the morning or noon. melatonin at night. SO far it works. though it doesn't kick in right away, it took me more than a week before it helps with my anxiety, especially during PMS.
